It is a focused conversation to help you gain clarity about your book’s purpose, audience, genre, structure, marketability, and publishing readiness. It is designed to help you gain clarity before investing in editing or publishing. Together, we’ll discuss your goals, evaluate where your project stands, and identify your next wise step.

Do I need a completed manuscript?
No. A Book Direction Consultation is designed for writers at many stages of the journey. Whether you have a book idea, a few chapters, a completed manuscript, or a previously published book, we’ll help you determine your next wise step.
Can we meet online?
Yes. Consultations may be held by phone, Zoom, or in person when appropriate. We’ll work with you to determine the best meeting option based on your location and schedule.
Will you read my entire manuscript before the consultation?
No. Your consultation is based on the information you provide in your pre-call questionnaire and our conversation together. If you choose the Book Direction Consultation + Roadmap, we’ll also review the project information you submit before the meeting. Full manuscript reviews and editing services are separate services.
What happens after the consultation?
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your project’s strengths, opportunities for growth, and recommended next steps. Depending on your goals, those next steps may include continued writing, manuscript revision, editing, or preparing for publication. If your project is a good fit for Integrity Publishing, we’ll explain the available services and help you determine the best path forward.
If I decide to publish with Integrity Publishing later, do I still need a Manuscript Review?
Yes. A Manuscript Review is required before a manuscript can be accepted for publishing through Integrity Publishing. It helps us evaluate your manuscript’s current stage and recommend the most appropriate editing path before production begins.
What if my manuscript isn't ready for editing?
That’s perfectly okay. Not every manuscript is ready for editing, and discovering that early can save both time and money. If we believe your manuscript would benefit from additional development before editing, we’ll explain why and provide recommendations to help you move forward with confidence.
